A Day on Venus Is Longer Than a Year on Venus

Venus rotates so slowly that one spin takes 243 Earth days, yet it orbits the Sun in only 225 Earth days. Therefore, a single “day” on Venus outlasts its entire “year.” Thick clouds hide the Sun, making sunrise and sunset patterns bizarre.

💡 Fun detail: Venus also spins backward compared with most planets, so the Sun rises in the west and sets in the east.
