Albatrosses Can Sleep While Flying

Wandering albatrosses spend months at sea without landing and have been recorded sleeping for short periods while gliding on ocean winds. They enter a form of unihemispheric slow-wave sleep, keeping one half of the brain alert.

๐Ÿ’ก Fun detail: Some individuals have been tracked traveling more than 120,000 kilometers in a single year.
